FJR Centre Membership Activities Assistance Servicing Members Officials

 FJOC - membership and benefits

The FJ Owners Club was set up in 1993 by Phil Hacker to bring together FJ owners who shared his enthusiasm for the FJ. In the course of its seven year history, the club has exceeded all expectations and currently has more than 1600 members from all over the world. It is run by Phil Hacker on a full time basis with the help of an enthusiastic band of volunteer club officials. The Club has opened its membership to owners of sports tourers other than the FJ and FJR. So FJers who have changed their 'bikes to other models can stay in the club. Friends of members are very welcome to join the club as well as to come to runs and social events.

While mainly based in the UK, the club has a lot to offer all its members. Club membership entitles you to:
Free advice from Phil (Some comments from Motorcycle Sport and Leisure, Part 1)
Quality servicing done by Phil or Mark or Wayne at the Workshop (see note below)
Attendance at 'How to do it servicing sessions'
Attendance at club runs and outings (ok, friends and other sports tourers and even the odd VFR are allowed!)
Social events, Christmas 'do', summer rally
Receive the Club's magazine, Fast Journal
BMF affiliation
Discounts on insurance and other services
Access to a catalogue of spares, replacements and other 'goodies' you can order
Buying a secondhand FJ (Some comments from Motorcycle Sport and Leisure, Part 2)
Buying a new FJR and servicing

There seems to have been a constant stream of complaints about bike servicing recently, especially servicing by one of the big outlets. You have probably seen these in the magazines, especially 'Ride'. Members have their own stories too. Now, with the Club, you know that the job will be done well, not skimped and at a very reasonable price.

Joining the FJOC - remember, it's for Sports Tourers as well as FJs and FJRs!
